EMSB awaits formal directives regarding Mackay and Philip E. Layton Schools and AEVS programs

Montreal - Saturday, May 16, 2020

The English Montreal School Board has not received any formal directives or information following Thursday‘s announcement that elementary schools in the Greater Montreal area will not reopen this spring. However, the Board is aware that the government and the Ministry of Education have stated that schools with a supra-regional mandate for students with severe handicaps and special needs like Mackay and Philip E. Layton Schools, and Adult Education and Vocational Training Centres that require students to be physically present (such  as for  exams and hands-on training) will reopen as scheduled on May 25.

As such, the EMSB continues to make the necessary organizational, academic and safety preparations for those schools and centres to reopen on May 25, while awaiting further information and directives from the Ministry.
