PERFORMANCES AT FACE

On December 3, 2021, under strict sanitary conditions, students from Grades 5 to 11 from FACE School’s String Department gave a concert for their parents.

The FACE Senior Orchestra, under the direction of music teacher Angela Hemingway and guest conductor Kerry Roebuck, and the FACE Symphony, Junior and Intermediate Orchestras, under the direction of Theodora Stathopoulos, gave praise - worthy performances at two separate times during the same evening.

The event was particularly moving for parents, students and teachers and marked the first time in almost two years that the community of the much - celebrated fine arts school came together for an instrumental music concert in their heritage auditorium.

Following the cancellation of all after school activities and concerts due to the pandemic, FACE School’s string music teacher Theodora Stathopoulos kept her students’ skills and motivation alive by engaging them in virtual orchestra participation and concerts.  However, a live concert is much more than notes being played together with precision and enthusiasm. A live concert symbolizes “togetherness”: the lengths we’ll go to be together, the ways we heal when we are together, the impact we achieve when together we celebrate our students’ achievements.
